SEATTLE WAVE RADIO “Inner Fire” REVIEW
You Need To Go Through Your Seasons To Fuel Your Inner Fire
JUNE 2nd, 2018
Typically, I do not review artists/songs without seeing their live performance first. I like to be in the presence of the artist so that I can feel their energy, and fuel our connection. However, when Seattle Wave Radio asked me to review Andrea Desmond’s song “Inner Fire” I agreed. I trust their judgment and understand their musical philosophy.
I did not read up on Andrea before I listened to her song. I wanted this to be a fresh and personal experience. Within seconds after pulling up her “Inner Fire” lyric video, my soul was connected into her message. I found myself in tears. It was like she had retrieved my personal memories and placed them into this powerful song. The struggle, the distress, the perseverance and The Hope. The understanding, that it’s the challenges we go through, that lead us onto a brighter and happier path. ‘’This too shall pass.’’
How did this young musician gain the wisdom it’s taken me 50+ years to learn? That is a sign of an artist who is connected to her soul. And it’s reflected in her music.
Strong, inspirational and soothing. Her vocals and instrumentation carrying the message beautifully along on its journey to our own souls. Andrea is a talented musician, who has the exquisite ability to breathe life into her lyrics. I find the strength of this song to be comparable with that of Sara Bareilles and her song “Brave.”
“Inner Fire” will become an inspirational anthem for those soldiers in life, who are fighting to put one foot in front of the other.
“It’ll come around again
It always does
It’ll come around better than you dreamed of”
Truth and Hope, wrapped up in this beautiful package of music.
I’m looking forward to the release of more of her new music and EP in the Summer of 2018. She will be giving us a gift that we all can accept.
